Dogs by Fred Gutzeit

Dogs

There was such a "coolness" in painting and the ideas articulated in and about the work was all important. In my "trip back to nature," I began looking at dogs (cats too) as representing "Feeling" rather than "Ideas." Perhaps I'm missing the point-if I want feeling in painting, it should be my feelings when I'm applying paint-and the paint will show "feeling." However, my intention was the Dog/Cat represented would show feeling.
