Painting landscape is too "Green." What I see is Pattern-repetition into variation. I need a location -something like a specific object to work from (motif). I find a spot with running water, and the relations of foliage rock and flowing water in a specific location - that's my motif/object. And the "concrete" (natural forms become a vocabulary for abstraction. The "Look of the place" becomes the "Feel" of the place.
